How to choose a steel or above-ground pool

A steel pool can be a ready-to-assemble set, a compact pool, or a structure intended for a construction project. These solutions differ in terms of transport, ground preparation, and included equipment. The first decision is to identify which of these configurations matches your space and the type of installation you intend to carry out.

Ready-to-assemble, compact, or modular structure?

Round ready-to-assemble and oval ready-to-assemble pools use a steel wall and interior liner. The word "ready-to-assemble" describes the construction; it does not guarantee that you can install the pool on any ground, nor that disassembly should be part of an annual routine. Follow the configuration and the manual for the specific reference.

The Compact Pool is a solution with its own structure and liner. In contrast, the EVO panel and profiles are components of a designed structure. A panel sold by the unit is not a complete pool and should not be compared by price with a ready-to-assemble set.

Compare the exterior area, not just the water

Measure the complete footprint, including supports, buttresses where applicable, access, and equipment. For an oval pool, the width of the water may differ from the width required for the structure. For a compact pool, compare the exterior dimensions with the usable surface area and the position of the benches. Request an installation drawing instead of marking out the area based solely on the commercial name.

Confirm the units and dimensions of the reference. Some old catalog designations feature measurements with incorrect units or circular descriptions associated with oval versions. Request the exact datasheet and code before preparing the base. Do not use questionable information from the title as a measurement for construction work.

Terrain, base, and installation conditions

The QP ready-to-assemble references presented here indicate installation on a concrete base according to the manual. This does not define the thickness or preparation for all types of terrain. The manufacturer's design and site assessment must determine the base, leveling, and distribution of supports.

Confirm whether the model allows for elevated, semi-inground, or inground installation. These possibilities are not universal: the EVO structure has stated applications that cannot be transferred to any ready-to-assemble pool. Before ordering, clarify the layout, drainage, access, and applicable procedures on-site with the person executing the project.

What the proposal should include

  • Structure and interior liner, with the reference for each component.
  • Filtration, connections, and hydraulic accessories actually provided.
  • Ladder or other compatible entry solution.
  • Electrical equipment and lighting when planned.
  • Transport, unloading, assembly, and base preparation.
  • Manual and drawing corresponding to the ordered configuration.

Sets may include different equipment between versions and generations. A photograph with a ladder or filter does not confirm the delivery composition. Compare proposals item by item and verify that the filtration system corresponds to the volume and project. To select separate equipment, consult the pump and filter guides in the Norte Pool center.

Liner, assembly, and maintenance

Confirm the liner or membrane provided and how they are to be secured. A resistant structure does not eliminate the need to protect the liner against abrasion or incompatible products. Use cleaning accessories suitable for the surface and follow the water treatment instructions without placing concentrated products directly onto the liner.

Assembly must respect the sequence, parts, and filling procedure of the manufacturer. Before starting, check the base and the composition of the kit. Maintenance includes monitoring fasteners, the liner, connections, and signs of corrosion. The GRE manual demonstrates that the maintenance and emptying of steel pools are specific procedures; always consult the manual for your model before emptying or disassembling.

Purchasing errors and FAQ

Does "ready-to-assemble" mean I can bury it?

No. Such an installation must be expressly permitted for the reference and prepared according to the project.

Can I order just the EVO structure?

Yes, when it matches your project, but you will have to define the remaining components. Ask for the necessary composition to obtain a functional pool.

What is the most important measurement for preparing the site?

The complete layout drawing, with supports and clearances. The water measurement is not sufficient.

Explore the Norte Pool guide center and request support with the reference and details of your installation.

Consulted documentation

Consult the updated manual for the reference purchased. Its installation, compatibility, safety, and maintenance instructions prevail over the general guidance of this guide.
